Worksheets need to be collected from the Science Room if you do not have a copy. Please work through the sheets in the order listed.

All working must be shown for each question, calculators are required, the sum entered into the calculator must be written clearly in your book. If you do not have a scientific calculator use the scientific calculator on a computer.

EXTENSION (practical applications)

If you complete all the above work, you may spend some investigating further the stadium design. Consider what happens if each person needs additional height between the seat and their line of sight, how much higher does each seat, or specifically the fortieth tier become. Consider any other facts you feel are relevant and how the end result may differ.

You can also consider a general algebraic formula for constructing each tier of stadium seats (the nth tier), allowing all measurements to be variable within the formula.
